Glasgow Rangers would neither confirm nor deny this evening that they had been receiving calls all day from George Nash, the Zephyr Rovers Chairman. "We might have heard from him a hundred times or so or we might not" said a spokesman for Rangers who did not wish to be named. Nash whose son Rossi was born only yesterday, is understood to have been keen to get his son enrolled on the Rangers junior development scheme. When contacted Nash said the media had their facts mixed up. "Look I know Rossi will play for Rangers eventually" said Nash "but at this point I'm looking to put him in the Ajax development squad as it has a good reputation as the best". Nash confirmed he had considered Jock as a name but knew Rangers were increasingly signing players with more exotic European names and Rossi was certainly a great footballing name.
