Candyman Can't

The future of the "candyman" Craig Candy was in doubt today as the player was yet again unavailable for a Rovers match. "There's no doubt that Craig has the pedigree for the team" said Zephyr Rovers Manager Steve Hall "but all the skills in the world aren't a lot of use to the team if you never actually play". Candy has so far had just one outing for the club but has otherwise been unavailable for the club. "We're still hopeful that Craig will improve his availability" said Hall "it's clear that Steve Boxall has achieved the transition and he's now turning out regularly for the side". Candy has had a meteoric football career from Hull to Miramar, and currently is assistant manager for Miramar first team. "It's potentially a good stepping stone to Rovers management" said Hall "but we're playing at a different level than those guys and the transition to indoor management only comes when you've had time on the pitch".
