Hall said the Saints had thankfully for Smith remained in the Championship otherwise he would undoubtedly be making some crazy bet about Pompey beating them about ten goals. "You have to question whether he will learn from all of this" said Hall "and I'm afraid to say the photographs that weren't published were not for a family audience". Hall predicted Pompey and Southampton would be in the same league soon enough but declined to suggest which league it would be.
