Rovers March On

A makeshift Zephyr Rovers were too good today for TFT United in the Division three fixture at Shed 6. "We had a couple of new boys Nigel and Dave playing as well as Pete Roberts who has had the odd game for us previously". Nash said the team struggled a bit in the first half and yet again the shape was lost with all the new players trying to find a combination" said Nash "and frankly my goal keeping kept us in it in that first half". Nash said that as is so often the case, Rovers lifted in the second half and notwithstanding it stayed close throughout, Rovers were good value for a two goal win. "This was a tight one" said Nash "tighter even than your average Scotsmen on a pub crawl". John Cao (pictured) nominated George Nash as player of the day. "He showed courage to play with his stuffed ribs" said Cao "and he even made the odd impressive save". Main Rivals Hayden's Whore drew with Liverpool Kiss to leave Rovers top of the table.
