Pompey Go With Canterbury
Zephyr Rovers Australian Recruitment Scout Charlie Smith (pictured) issued a stern "No Comment" this morning on learning that his beloved Pompey were switching to rugby gear made by Canterbury of New Zealand. "Pompey are calling it space age technology and putting a nice spin on it" said Zephyr Rovers Manager Steve Hall "but we all know Pompey are wearing rugby shirts next season and Charlie I know is privately gutted". Pompey have declined to show the public the new shirts until after the rugby world cup but insiders say they'll need to put a few bigger lads in the team next year to fill out the shirts. "There have been a few rumours that Charlie is being hired as a model and that is behind his hurried trip to Wellington" said Hall "he certainly seems to be keeping mum about why he is coming back from Perth so soon after his departure".
