Salary Cap Unchanged

Zephyr Rovers Manager Steve Hall (pictured) said today that he was restricted by the current salary cap in recognising the performances of his players. "We don't set the salary cap" said Hall "it is set by the fact that we don't have any money to spend on players outside of match fee sponsorship". Hall appealed to Terry Serepisos to donate a few spare million to the club as this would undoubtedly help meet the vision of being the best indoor team in Wellington by 2030. "I'm philosophical" said Hall "as we go higher up the leagues we'll draw more attention from the Auckland based media and before you know it we'll be appearing on TV1". Hall confessed that coverage of football by TV1 was abysmal and you needed to start a football riot to get ten seconds after the weather. "We'll pick up a few pointers from Chris Riddle on the riot stuff" said Hall "he's based in South Auckland these days and knows how to look after himself".
